Exhibition Monumento Historia di nos Futuro

On 24th of January there was at the office of Stichting Monumentenfonds Aruba (SMFA) the opening of the exhibition by the artist Franco Koolman. The title of the exhibition is Monumento Historia di Nos Futuro (Historic Monuments of our future), the title can be seen back in the works of Franco Koolman about antique houses and typical Aruban houses.
SMFA is engaged in the financing of restoration and maintenance, management and operation of protected monuments and is the financial institution in the field of heritage conservation. SMFA promotes awareness of monuments and contributes to the awareness of the value of the architectural cultural heritage to both residents and visitors of the country Aruba. This is also a reason why SMFA supports all positive initiatives that have to do with monuments. So was Mr. Franco Koolman approached with the offer to exhibit his works of art in the beautiful office building of SMFA at Avenida Milio Croes. The Director Anne Witsenburg heard of his paintings for the first time when he held an exhibition at Unoca, but she was too late to see it so she made contact with Franco to ask about his paintings and thus came the idea to exhibit them at SMFA. These paintings will remain at SMFA indefinitely so that everyone can come to view them and or purchase by. This exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday between 1:00PM and 5:00PM. It is the first time that SMFA opens its doors for an exhibition, and hopes to welcome many more.
Franco Koolman is a self-taught artist from young he started drawing with pencil on paper. His first work on canvas he did in 1999, it was a landscape of vibrant nature.
Franco Koolman describes the paintings of this exhibition as paintings about historical monuments that should have a place in us on our island. With a combination of realistic art combined with modern touches which are a mixture of colors in a somewhat abstract style that has brought me to the title of this exhibition. Acrylic and canvas are the materials used for this exhibition.

Op 24 januari was er op het kantoor van Stichting Monumentenfonds Aruba (SMFA) de opening van de expositie van de kunstenaar Franco Koolman De titel van de expositie is Monumento Historia di Nos Futuro (Monumenten Geschiedenis van ons toekomst) de titel is terug te zien in de werken van Franco Koolman over antieke huizen en typisch Arubaanse huizen.
Stichting monumentenfonds Aruba houdt zich bezig met aankopen, restaureren, herstemmen, beheren en onderhouden van monumenten om ze zo te behouden voor de toekomst van Aruba. Hiernaast ziet Stichting Monumentenfonds Aruba ook het belang om zowel inwoners als toeristen bewust te maken van het belang van onze monumenten als getuigen van ons verleden. Dit is ook een reden waardoor Stichting Monumentenfonds alle positieve initiatieven die met monumenten te maken hebben ondersteunt. Zo werd de heer Franco Koolman benaderd met het aanbod om zijn werken tentoon te stellen in het mooie kantoor van stichting monumentenfonds Aruba te Avenida Milio Croes. De directeur Anne Witsenburg heeft voor het eerst van zijn schilderijen gehoord toen hij een expositie had bij Unoca maar was net te laat om deze te kunnen zien dus had ze zelf contact genomen met Franco om hem te vragen over zijn schilderijen en zo kwam het idee om deze te exponeren bij SMFA. Deze schilderijen zullen voor onbepaalde tijd bij SMFA blijven zodat iedereen langs kan komen om ze te bekijken en of kopen. Deze expositie kan bezocht worden van maandag tot en met vrijdag tussen 13:00 en 17:00 uur. Het is de eerste keer dat SMFA haar deuren opent voor een expositie, en hopen nog vele exposities meer te kunnen verwelkomen bij ons.
Franco Koolman is een autodidactische kunstenaar die vanaf jong is begonnen met het tekenen met potlood op papier. Zijn eerste werk op canvas deed hij in 1999 het was een landschap van levendige natuur.
Franco Koolman beschrijft de schilderijen van deze expositie als schilderijen die te maken hebben met historische monumenten die een plaats moeten hebben in ons op onze eiland. Met een combinatie van realistische kunst in combinatie met moderne accenten dat een mengsel is van kleuren in een wat abstracte stijl dat mij tot het titel van deze expositie heeft gebracht. Acrylic en canvas zijn de gebruikte materialen voor deze expositie.
