Winners of Wiki Loves Monuments Aruba 2020

In September in connection with monuments month, Monumentsfund Aruba organized the fifth edition of Wiki Loves Monuments.
Wiki Loves monuments is a photography competition with the goal to document monuments around the world. A total of fifty-three countries participated this year. Every country organizes its own local competition and nominees its ten best photographs to participate with the international competition.
The national competition of Aruba was a huge success with 742 participating photos. The local jury consisting of Van Gassant , Walter Mohammed and Anne Witsenburg selected the best photographs and the winner of this years WLM competition.
The local competition has two categories. Category one is for protected monuments. Only photographs from this category can be nominated to advance to the next round.
Category 2 is for not protected monuments. The main objective is to have an idea of what the community considers of monumental value.
Winners of WLM Aruba 2020 are: Bea Croes with a beautiful photo of the balcony of the former Hotel Colombia. Winner of Category 2 was Dayanne Lopez Schipper with a picture of a traditional cunucuhouse in the Arikok National Park.
The other nominees that will be participating with the international competition are: Xie Marie Larmonie, Jeroen Lucas (2x), Nohemy Habibe, Jesse Rasmijn (2x), Carlos Naranjo, Rose Willems.
All the nominees received a certificate of participation and their photograph printed on metal as a gift.
